Little Miss Preschooler!!!

It was a wonderful feeling to see such our happy little sunshine girl go off to school.
She was super nervous but put on her backpack and waited outside with us for the bus. We got lots of hugs and she even initiated several of them!!!
She adores school though she will never admit it. She sings no songs, reads no books, eats no food, and plays no games but she sure has fun.

She has come such a long way, and is allowing us to know her more each day. We have our ups and downs, but our lives are filled with blessings, love and sunshine.

three months later....

And she's still here.
She's still our Little Miss Sunshine (I will be abbreviating that "LMS"). And she loves to hear her song every night at bedtime.
In the past three months she has gained at least a pound, and grown an inch.
She went to five Rockies games and watched with glee as they shot off fireworks, she was equally happy about massive bags of cotton candy and Rockies Dogs. She accidentally decided she liked us.
we made her cover her face when the smoke blew into our faces, because we didn't want her to inhale tons of smoke.

The Rockies had a great season... LMS was SO SAD when she learned their season was over... In true bad parenting style, we took her out of school and instead went to the last regular season game. Made her whole Summer though, so it was worth it.

settling into the world of a new kiddo, adapting to the idea that she may be a forever kiddo... there is so much to do with her, so much to keep her well and healthy and learning and growing.

The Girl....

She does not like to eat anything but vegetables. (She helped make macaroni and cheese, which she wouldn't eat. However, she ate ALL of her veggies and even dipped them in blue cheese dressing. She drank a big glass of milk because I took away her powerade because she would NOT EAT HER FOOD, instead she had to drink one glass of whole milk - an effort to give the enzymes something to digest other than her intestines. For snack, she got an 8oz ensure and three strawberries dipped in chocolate yogurt.)
It seems like she doesn't fully understand anything. We don't really know how to explain it. Just... we asked her a question and she would answer "no", then a few minutes later, she would want to do what we asked about. We asked her if she like it here and if she was enjoying herself, she said "no", but then told the caseworker she wanted to stay here. But then we asked her another question, and she said "yes", and followed through.
She seems to understand she has to take her enzymes and doesn't mind them, she swallows them as whole pills, four for a meal, two for a snack.
She likes to play Wii, jump on the trampoline, toss balls back and forth, and sing.
It feels scary, because there was no connection like there was with the girls. She will hardly look at you, and when asked to make eye contact, she will look through you.
She seems almost apathetic about everything... We're in for a challenge.
